31 inches tall, this table lamp provides gentle ambient light in the shape of a lovely wave curve. This is as close as I've been to a curve this sexy in a long time. Note to self: Anh, time to take another dip into the pool of weirdness that is Craigslist personals.

I don't know about the claims that the perforations of this fruit bowl help extend fruit life but this thing can sit on my countertop anytime. I told a girl that once. Once. |via Cribcandy|

Emwave

0

The Emwave monitors your stress levels, letting you know when you are whacked out or in "coherence" - a highly efficient physiological state where all your systems are working in harmony. You can use the feedback displayed on the LCD screen to help you learn how to better switch into coherence at will. I am thinking this is one of those devices that if you feel you need it, means you most likely would benefit most from it. For harmony, I find that a few beers is just the thing to set me right.

Cattitude i-Pot

Cats and I have never really gotten along. My being allergic to them probably has lots to do with that. My allergy and their finicky personality aside, these pots are a pretty way to serve your tea. Hey, how come Apple hasn't come down on these for some sort of iPod copyright infringement?

The Japanese are masters of design. There is a cultural appreciation for aesthetics that permeates everything they produce. Sometimes, though, there are items that cause a little ... bewilderment. This innovation from Japanese company Triumph comes with a solar powered display board and bra padding that can store water or vodka and comes with a drinking straw. Working girls everywhere can now put away those twirling arrow signs to attract customers. |via Ecofriend|

I personally don't have a problem with any of the components that go with my computer system, but I understand that there are people out there who can't stand the sight of speakers and external storage devices cluttering their fancy desks and computer niches. Lucky for those folks, an entire industry of camouflaged peripheral items has arisen, featuring gadgets like the Photo Frame USB Speakers. The frames conveniently conceal the desktop speakers behind them and allow you to display your personal photos. The only drawback that I can see is the quizzical paradox of blasting Lil Wayne from behind a photo of my dear old grandma but on the other hand, that scene will be worth a laugh or two in the future...

Mixko Ceramic Rings

1

I don't generally wear jewelry but sometimes it's fun to vary up the look, especially on a Saturday night out. These rings give you a bit of mystery that's not as permanent as a tattoo on the neck. They're detailed enough that whoever is admiring them you know has been paying attention and not just using you to get free drinks. |via NotCot|

I'm sure there are drawbacks of synesthesia, the condition where your sensory signals are mistranslated so that sounds have colors or tastes have shapes and more, of which I'm not aware of but I have always been fascinated by it. The Bright-F concept from Lifeng Yu simulates an aspect of synesthesia by detecting the brightness, saturation, and hue of colors and translating them into tones to help the visually impaired recognize color. I've known "friends" who have experimented with psychotropics and they seem to think seeing and hearing things differently than most people experience the world is highly entertaining. Ah, those crazy college friend. I should call them up some day. |via Yanko|

When I was a kid we had some science class experiments where we had to wear a geiger counter to makes sure we weren't being irradiated into mutanthood. Maybe it was just my school, but it seemed like an innocuous experiment at the time. I never imagined that the day would come when I'd be wearing a similar device for the sun. The sun! Source of life! Worshipped by humanity since the dawn of man! It's amazing that everything turns out to be bad for you somehow. For you fair-skinned types, this is a must-have for the summer months. It monitors and computes recommended sun exposure for your skin type and the appropriate SPF level of sunscreen to use. It also alerts you when it's time to lather up again. I always do my bit for humanity by volunteering at women's volleyball tournaments for sunscreen duty. |via Book of Joe|

You need the arm girth of Thor to wear this board watch from Chronoswiss. Otherwise, it'll look like you've strapped on forearm protection for your impending battle with the ice hordes. I could never wear such a thing because I have arms that resemble cooked spaghetti noodles but I do admit it's got a sort of ur-male allure. If only my prayers of having chest hair had come true I'd be able to pass this off at the next Ren-fair. |via Watchismo|

Bamba Chair

1

Here's a flatpack chair from Ecosystems that's environmentally friendly and actually looks good. Assembly requires no tools and the fabrics are natural and biodegradable. And even more impressive, it packs into itself so there's no wastage of packing materials. That's about as good as you're going to get without having to use the All-Spark. |via Apartment Therapy|
