Junghans Solar Ceramic Atomic Watch

0

An expensive watch is not a bad thing to spend a significant amount of money on. Buy the right one, and it will be a device that you will use for years as a key element of personal presentation, regardless of whatever else you are wearing. For sheer breadth of technological excellence, dependability, design innovation, and visual appeal, we think this Junghans Solar Ceramic Atomic Watch is a great bet. When looking for that special watch that you are going to dump a lot of money into, allow yourself to admit that you really don’t know anything about watches. Do a little research and collect some useful data. The short story on Junghans is that this German manufacturer was founded in 1861 as a maker of wall clocks, initially producing watches in 1927. By the last quarter of the century, Junghans had become the biggest watch manufacturer in Germany, introducing the world's first radio-controlled wristwatch in 1990. Not a bad track record. In the mid-‘90s, Junghans introduced its first solar-powered model in a ceramic shell, a precursor to the version pictured above, which marks the evolving vision of the watchmaker. The watch’s solar technology draws power reserves for up to four months (just in case you find yourself on the South Pole this summer), with a charge level indicator to let you know how much juice you have left. The watch’s scratch resistant ceramic case is harder than stainless steel, and the watch is water resistant to nearly 100 feet. The case measures 2.5 thick, weighing in at 3.2 ounces. Of course, the jewel of this watch is its atomic functionality, which means exact precision. The watch's antenna picks up daily split-second synchronization, automatically adjusted for daylight savings time, leap years, and time zone changes. Time just doesn’t get any more precise than this.
