Design - June 27 2006Coral Lamp4 A weird take on a diffused-light pendant lamp, this Coral Lamp, designed by David Trubridge, might be appreciated as much for its sculptural qualities as it for its ability to give off good light. Made from pine plywood, the lamp’s outer shell is pieced together from individual pieces, each with five digits, which are attached to one another. Because of the porous, geometrical surface it creates, the lamp will give off strange and unique shadows, so you might want to go with an interior bulb that is already diffused. The piece comes in two sizes, one 24 in diameter and the other 36 in diameter. By: cory o'malley |
