Pedalite LED Pedals

0

I ride all kinds of bikes, and now that the sun sets earlier I often end up riding on the streets in the dark. The typical lights and reflectors attached to my bikes are always needing their batteries replaced or getting knocked off the bike. This self-powered LED-lighted pedal looks like it's vaulted to the top of the list for my rider-visibility concerns. There are three LEDs on the front, rear, and side of the pedals and they stay lit for up to 5 minutes when stopped.

Alien Sofa

0

This looks like a pack of something you'd smoke while celebrating the minstrel-mastery of Jerry Garcia but it's actually a sofa. What?? Yep. Maybe the designer Jonas Jurgaitis was appreciating some Grateful Dead when designing it. Made of polyurethane on a plywood frame wrapped in fabric. |via Yanko|

Atoll Carpet

1

This carpet would go well with your polar bear rug. Step onto it and pretend you're on your own island paradise. With everyone being so careful of their expenses these days this might be as close as you'll get to getting away. |via OutNext|

Bic Daisy Vase

1

I love this. This vase is made from Bic pens. What's a Bic pen cost these days, a 10-pack for $2? Talk about repurposing. This is lovely.

I actually have tried brushing my teeth with my finger. I learned to do this watching the Three Stooges as a kid. It wasn't very effective, basically just leaving a pasty taste in my mouth. This toothbrush-prophylactic idea has merits, though, and you could transport it pretty much anywhere. The only drawback is its disturbing likeness to putting a condom in your mouth. Not that there's anything wrong with that. |via Trendhunter|

Hang Chair

0

I'm always an advocate of furniture that multi-tasks since I live in such a limited space (no I am not blogging from a jail-cell as it might seem from my constant bemoaning of my cramped quarters). This hangchair's design is simple and functional. Just what I need when staggering through the door from another day fighting the savages. |via MocoLoco|

Petit Coeur

1

For those of you who enjoy consuming hearts, almost literally, then this is the perfect accompaniment for your vampiric tastes. Drink as if you're imbibing of the lifeblood of the wicked. Or are you the wicked? The vessel is from Etienne Meneau. |via CoolHunting|

B-Flex Speakers

0

That tinny sound from your laptop just isn't cutting it anymore now that you can stream almost anything in HD quallity. About time your audio catches up with your video (video always kill the radio star, doesn't it?). This neat little speaker connects to your laptop via USB and maybe it isn't an audiophile's dream but it will help your ears match the expectations set up by your eyes.

urBonfire

1

To fill out your faux-woodsman motif, this fireplace from Michael Hilgers evokes the log fire you could never build because you dropped out of Boy Scouts when the woods got a little too dark for your frightened child's heart. Yah, I never made it past Cub Scout so I'm venting all my urban frustrations. It's not so much the critters and the lack of electricity that frightens me about going "wild." It's the lack of modern plumbing. The woods is no place to bare yourself. This wilderness free urBonfire uses odorless and smoke-free bioethanol. |Via Trendhunter|

This mirror uses twigs (not real I'd imagine) to create a rustic frame for your face. Which is as close as you'll get to mountain-man ruggedness in this lifetime. |via Design Milk|

Tap'dNY

0

When my friends and I first heard about Tap'dNY, a company that purifies NYC's already terrific tap water and bottles it for sale, we spent the amount of time it takes to drink a few beers trying to figure out how much their water bill must be. We're assuming they must have to pay the water bill just like other New Yorkers so accounting for the cost of bottling and the water bill, a case of 24 bottles costs $36 so it comes out to $1.50 per bottle, how much is their profit margin? I'm just trying to figure out if I can do the same in my apartment. LA's tap water was recently graded quite high too. Ah, the best businessmen know to copy a good idea.
