Technology - June 12 2006Cable TV Over Cat53 Every time I see coaxial cable, I cringe. I've poked or cut myself on the sharp needle tips on more occasions than I like to remember, and the stiff cables are extremely hard to route. A look behind any home theatre and you'll probably see the cables haphazardly flopping around. In my place, you'll see lots of coaxial tied in loops sitting next to bundles of Cat5. This VideoEase CATV Balun seeks to remedy both of these problems by allowing you to transmit cable TV over CAT5. One end of the dongle has a standard coaxial connection while the other end has a female RJ45 port. Next time you are running your signal through long lengths and intricate room layouts, put away that bundle of coax and put your Cat5 to use. By: david vo |
