Design - December 13 2005Recycled Plant Stalk Furniture Design0 This Iannone:Sanderson Kirei Mod Coffee Table, measuring 33" (w) x 33" (d) x 10" (h), is a stunning mixture of clean, white acrylic and a recycled agricultural-waste product called Kirei Board. (You may have read about Kirei Board at Inhabitat back in May). The recycled material is made from processed stalks of the Sorghum plant—generally the fruit of the plant is harvested, while the stalks are burned or thrown away—a food source that is grown worldwide and creates a lot of waste. Alternately, it makes for an interesting element in furniture design. | Via 2Modern Design Talk | By: robert o'neill |
