Substance - July 07 2006productdose Favorites Giveaway9
We’d like to extend a huge thanks to all the readers who have supported the productdose relaunch by signing up with user profiles and getting involved in the community we’re watching develop. As a show of gratitude, we’ve brought together some of our favorite brands (see below) to help give back a little bit of what we have so much fun writing about every day. 10 brands have donated 59 products to the cause, and we will be picking 59 winners to give prizes to. Here’s how it works: sign up with a user profile (which also means returning the confirmation email) between now and 11:59pm next Friday (7/14), and we will throw your name into a hat. We will then pick 59 names out of the hat. (Those who have already signed up get entered twice—our thanks to you for being first adopters.) We will notify the winners by email—make sure the email address you enter when you sign up is the one you plan on receiving messages at—at 11:00am PST on the following Monday (7/17). Whoever responds first by email to tips@productdose.com gets first pick of the prizes. Good luck! Baxter: If memory serves correctly, Baxter equipped us with materials for the first ever productdose hands-on review. Not only that, the guys who run the company came over to our office and gave us a primer on shaving, which we put the good use for a week’s worth of daily posts. Of course, Shaving isn’t all Baxter excels at, and the company has generously donated three sets of daily shampoo and moisturizer. Endovanera: We'd been watching Endovanera throughout the end of last year, but seeing the label at Pool in February really gave us a taste of what the brand is capable of. Possessing a range of sophisticated menswear designs, Endovanera seems to ignore the trendy in favor of more timeless expressions. Not that the label can’t pull off what's hot, like denim, which this Walker Jean attests to. We've got four pairs. EtniesPlus: Etnies has always walked a comfortable line between functional and streetwear fashionable, but the EtniesPlus line took the brand’s style sense to another level. Produced in small collections of limited-edition, numbered pieces, each EtniesPlus shoe is handcrafted with unique materials and idiosyncratic design elements. We were lucky enough to get our hands on six pairs from current collection. Howe: Howe exists in a world all its own. In a niche-market fashion world overrun with hip-hop, skateboarding, and a military fetish, Howe insists upon cultivating a cowpunk’s take on the English country gentleman. We’ve been watching the brand continue to evolve since we started, and Howe has now given us five, buttery-soft tees to give away, each with simple text illustrations depicting the brand’s conceptual aesthetic. mimoco: the maker of mimobots contacted us a while back about doing a promotion. The initial post we ran on mimoco almost a year ago brought so much great response that we knew these USB keys would be a crowd favorite as a relaunch giveaway. We now have two mimobot 512MB, high-speed USB 2.0 flash drives, designed by artist Shawnimal Smith, an early participant in the brand’s artist series. Royal Elastics: Now that we think about it, Royal Elastics was the first brand to reach out to us and invite productdose into their space. Shortly after we started blogging, we went to down to RE headquarters and blogged for a week on what we saw. Seemingly always ready to expose a freaky new design, Royal Elastics just tipped us to this Nusuro (pictured). 12 winners will get thier pick of this or any other in the current RE stable. Sovereign Beck: We've watched Sovereign Beck since the start of the year, even before we met them at Pool in February. A line of unique, out-of-the-box neckties made by two RISD graduates from Brooklyn, SB offers a small collection of ties that appeal as much to the graffiti writer as they do to the office grinder who mixes things up a bit under a suit. The duo gave us a baker’s dozen ties for 13 lucky winners. Tom Bihn: Bag manufacturer Tom Bihn made it into our Top Ten Coolest Laptop Cases feature, and the brand has proven to be a reader favorite ever since. We talked to Tom Bihn about this promotion, and he proved to be a great sport, providing us with both the Empire Builder—which made the Top Ten—and one of their newest success stories, the Archetype Macbook Case. Four winners get their pick. Vintage Red: Out of the 10 brands celebrating our relaunch, we figure we should bring in a newbie, a brand we’ve yet to post on but are getting excited about. What little we’ve seen from Vintage Red skillfully blends distressed, worn-in comfort with vintage-inspired, contemporary styling. There's no better way to usher in a new chapter than to give away five polos from a new brand we’ll be keeping a close eye on. By: productdose |

Unfortunately the contest is not open to readers outside the United States. For future giveaways we definitely will try to include International readers. Also in terms of your odds, since we have such a large amount of stuff to giveaway, your chances are very good if you signed up either in the last week, or until the contest ends. |

Well sounds good to me, given the pro design of the site, i would have imagined that the odds for prize to reader were 1/100.... well sweet deal |

As much as I would like to win something (preferably that polo at the bottom in size M) I'm located in Canada and hence can only continue reading this blog. I've caught myself on the idea that this blog is a medium of promoting products to the right target audience without costly marketing campaigns. The best part is that we as consumers feel a certain benefit and value in it. At least I do. You guys blog about stuff that interests me and I guess all the readers of this blog as well. Keep up the good work guys ;) |

However I stumbled on this website, I think 6-8 months ago, using influences on my A-levels and checking your blog everyday.. lol I have been impressed. lol I even voted in the best blogs competition on your blog... shame you did't win though! nvm. Like the new development btw much more advance and professional. Trnce |

I've been reading this website for a year, and am so excited that you've actually got something especially for girls (as much as I love all the gadgety stuff too)! Are the sunglasses in the contest, or just given away randomly? I would LOVE a pair! |
|
cory (223) |
Four of the seven pairs of sunglasses are women's, and they are part of the raffle. Anyone who gets randomly chosen as one of our 59 winners will have the option of picking a pair up (provided they get back to us before four other winners who also want the women's glasses contact us). |
RudeMob (1) |
Won't this just get a huge ammount of 1 post users into the site? |
|
j.zaro (8) |
I wouldn't think so.... -People want prizes -They sign up to get them -In signing up users see how genius this site is -Resulting in daily visits to the blog |

It's a pity non-US users cannopìt benefit from the giveaway. Anyway the site was great and now is much more better! Thanks for the daily deliveries! |

What a great site. I don't think I would have found you unless you had this contest. |

This lady sure would love a pair. The sun down south is brighter than a baldman's head reflecting the fires of hell. Still feels like hell, though. Don't suppose the glasses fix that. |

Not to sound like a girl....but why won't my profile reflect the fact that I choose F in the sex option? C'mon! |
vigile.x (7) |
