French clothing brand Shai has recently come under media scrutiny for using pornography to sell its current collection online. Depending on how you view porn, the tactic is either genius or dastardly. The recent internet campaign's ability to smoothly bypass decency standards associated with traditional publishing is unique to online advertising. So is the feature that encourages the viewer to aim a cursor over (momentarily) clad models for clothing info, allowing for enhanced user interaction. Here's the ad, but be warned: this is nowhere near safe for work: "Shaï interactive catalogs include X-rated pornographic content intended for adults only." | LA Times via Gawker | By: cory o'malley |
