Technology - August 21 2006SanDisk Sansa e280 8GB Flash MP3 Player2 When the first flash MP3 players came out, many scoffed at their capacities. At 60-100 MB per album, you would be able to fit two to three albums--max. And while this is great at the gym, since my workouts are never more than 45 minutes, there are no real surprises when the player is set on shuffle. But times have changed, manufacturing processes have improved, and flash storage capacities have risen while prices have dropped. Sandisk has now the special privilege of boasting the largest flash MP3 player with its just-announced Sansa e280 [SanDist press release]. The sleek player features an 1.8" TFT color display, photo and video support, and obligatory (hello Apple?) FM tuner. Finally, the player includes a mini-SD slot to expand the capacity (up) to 10GB, which, for the guy who wants everything plus an option for more, is very cool! By: david vo |
