Technology - March 05 2007Never Have a Dead Car Battery Again6
If you find portable solar chargers more of a hassle to carry around than the worth of the power they generate, this Sunsei Solar Powered Battery Charger makes its function clear. The charger is designed to keep your car battery topped off at all times, and it sits (reasonably) inconspicuously above your dashboard, attached to the windshield with suction cups. | Via Sci Fi Tech | By: cory o'malley

I wonder about this gadget. First, it actually is pretty conspicuous. Second, don't most batteries die from headlights being left on? And aren't most headlights on at night? So in the morning, when your battery is dead, after 8 hours of darkness, will this gadget do any good? Inquiring minds want to know. -SparkBugg.com |

volkswagen had a solar panel charger they started giving away with later model mkIV cars (2002+ i believe) i always though they were worthless cause my 2001 gti NEVER ran out of juice, well until 6 years on the same battery. i think it really had something to do with charging the batteries during shipment and while they were sitting at the dock before delivery. you would assume that this could recharge a dead battery before you drove to work, assuming you drove to work after the sun had been up for a few hours *grin* |
