Rubber Band Guns

11

rubber_band_gun

Few things bridge the gap between the imaginations of adult and child like guns--grown-up tools (or toys) that, for many, never loose the appeal that children find in them. Since most adults don't want access to real violence, the rubber band gun is a clever stand-in for the real thing. While we can't advocate aiming one of the weapons that follow at another human being, we'll suggest that no real late-in-the-week office battle is complete without a little weaponry.

Fireband Eleastic Band Gun

fireband

The most realistic looking gun of the lot, this Fireband Elastic Band Gun will have you feeling like you're taking down the Terminator with rubber bands. This one loads eight rubber bands at once.

Rubber Band Repeater

With the look of a 19th century dueling pistol, this Rubber Band Repeater looks simple but packs some power. The gun is a six-shot repeater and launches rubber bands up to 25 feet.

Derringer Solid Wood Pistol

This Derringer Solid Wood Pistol is appealing on a variety of levels, not least of which is the wood grain surface appeal of the gun, described by the merchant as a "rustic wood exterior." This simple beauty comes in at a nice price of $9.99.

Gatling Rubberband Machine Gun

Perhaps the most powerful and impressive rubber band gun in existence, this Gatling Rubberband Machine Gun features twelve rotating barrels, each packed with 12 rubber bands, for 144 shots. This is pretty serious firepower, and it comes with a serious price tag of almost $400.

Desktop Repeater

A gun designed specifically for office use, the Desktop Repeater stands a mere 10.75" in height, including its squat tripod. The rapid-fire repeater packs 12 shots, but this menacing little machine gun may scare off your opponents before the first shot is even necessary.

Tommy Gun Rubber Band Gun

Easily this list's gun with the most style, the Tommy Gun Rubberband Gun will have you mowing down foes like a bathtub gin-brewing Chicago gangster. This full-sized gun is 27" in length and shoots 12 rubber bands at a time.

Firewheel Rubber Band Gun

Another rifle that stands out in this collection as a very contemporary rubber band weapon, this Firewheel Rubber Band Gun loads ten rubber bands at a time and has a shooting range of 25 feet. This gun also boasts the neat control feature of allowing you to shoot all your bands at once, in spurts, or one at a time.

AK47 Combat Rifle with Scope and Sling

ak47

If the size and shape of this gun don't make you feel like your handling an actual weapon, maybe the accessories will. The AK47 Combat Rifle comes stocked with both a sling for your shoulder and a top-mounted scope for ultimate accuracy. (When following the link, click on "Rifles" in the left column, and then on "Military.")

The Hogg Double Barrel

hogg_double_barrel

Doubling your firepower, this Hogg Double Barrel offers access to 12 rubber bands from a single trigger. Flip it over and you've got twelve more. The rifle also features an impressive range of 32 feet.

Magnum M-2

The Magnum M-2 is the perfect compact rubber band rifle. Easily concealable, the gun can be exposed to fire 12 bands before reloading. Fitting easily in an office desk, this may be the gun that packs the most damage in the smallest package.

Hmmmph... no one ever seems to remember the Rabaser - a high-tech rubber band gun from the Sharper Image that shot synthetic rubber bands that would raise quite a welt on exposed human skin. I wouldn't mind seing someone do a BAR replica as a rubber band shooter. That was Bonnie and Clyde's real weapon of choice, not the Tommy.

I have one of those. My aunt dated the guy who invented it. One year for Christmas he gave all the guys in he family one. This was before he had it marketed. It would rip right through a heavy brown paper bag. It did come with special heavy duty rubber bands, but you could use regular ones too.
