Design - January 24 2008Clear Block Lamp4
The block lamp, designed by Harri Koskinen has been part of the MoMA since 2000. Each part of the block lamp is hand cast and undergoes an extremely long cooling process to avoid cracking later on if exposed to strong temperature changes. A whole lot of work for a bulb in a block, I say. I really wish there was a fly stuck inside with the bulb or even a hint of a something, anything to give the piece an air of the mysterious. Then I'd be really psyched. Oh, bulb included. By: anh ta
