One of my favorite beers in college was Grolsch. It came in a green bottle with a resealable cap that attached via a wire hinge. And before you opened it a little dangle with a plastic goat hung around the neck. The bottles were reusable and they made great souvenirs for a particularly great night of drinking. It sounds to me like you're mixing up two very different beers. Grolsch definitely comes in a bottle with a swing-top, and it's a passable--if skunky (green bottle, why do they insist)--import pilsner. The goat dangle, however, is from Celebrator Doppelbock. That's some good stuff. I could be wrong, but I'm not. The goat is a symbol for bock beers. I have two of the little Celebrator goats hanging off of my kitchen cabinet knobs right now (classy, I know...) I can't think of a good reason for Grolsch to have used a similar device, but who knows. Just thought I'd point that out, 'cuz I'm that kind of geek. |

You know, that Celebrator Doppelbock sounds very familiar so you're probably right. I was only 18 after all when I drank it. The years and beers in between have made my memory a bit hazy. |
