Instead of a cup of coffee in the morning I like to wake my brain up with a dose of NPR. It's better than the local news because it actually discusses issues intelligently, and it doesn't tax my eyes like reading off the internet will do. Unfortunately, NPR is always on public radio and when you're away from home those stations are nearly impossible to find. With this map you can locate up to 600 local public radio stations. So for your next road trip, it doesn't have to be all talk radio and golden oldies. By: anh ta

This is a must. In the interest of full disclosure, I must admit that I don't have the kind of money to buy pretty much any of the products featured on this site. I love looking at thoughtfully designed items, and if I ever fall into lots of disposable income (maybe teaching is the wrong line of work?) I will have developed a sense of my taste. This, though, is seriously a must-have item for me. I am an NPR addict, and nothing keeps me awake like talk radio when I'm driving. I go crazy when I drive somewhere and all I can find are country music and lame pop/rock stations. Thanks so much for featuring this! It never occurs to me to look for things like this. |

May you have many NPR laden road trips. You might not be able to afford any of this stuff but just by making it this far it's sort of like you've won the lottery. |
