C-Lounge

0

Very rarely can a piece of furniture be described as lucious but this design from Dima Loginoff makes my mouth water. From the lush colors to the design that hints at a ripe tropical fruit, this lounger makes me want to eat a Lifesaver. |via MocoLoco|

Concealed Cabinets

0

I just realized that the only difference between an entrepreneur and a daydreamer is the entrepreneur actually brings their ideas to life. I thought of this exact storage solution in college and forgot about it until coming upon this. These cabinets are concealed behind what looks like normal picture frames. Just like a medicine cabinet in the bathroom, you open it and you have a little more shelf space for sundries. I'd be rich by now if I had just acted on half of my ideas. Of course, if I'd act on the other half I'd half lost all my wealth and be exactly where I am now - with nothing. I guess it's better to do nothing after all if the end result is the same. |via Apartment Therapy|

Carved Eggshells

0

These stunning egg carvings are made by a Slovenian artist named Franc Grom. He uses an electric boring tool to drill 2,500 to 3,500 holes in the eggshell to create elaborate and intricate designs. He sometimes pierces the shell up to 17,000 times. Truly amazing. |via Trendhunter|

Serve up your tender morsels and sweet confections in these leaf plates. Your lover will swoon right into your arms at your sublime design sense. Or pour a thin layer of narcotizing agent in the dish and you'll get the same effect.

How Tie

0

Sometimes it still takes me several tries before I get a tie to hang just right, not so short that I look like I'm still in prep school and not so long that people think I let my blind grandmother dress me. This How Tie makes things easy by displaying the directions right where you need them, on the item being used. If only all goods were so thoughtful. |via 7Gadgets|

Vaka Lighting

1

We've seen a similar concept before of a tree-like structure with bulbs for 'fruit', but it's such a neat idea why not show another iteration of it. From Ian Bach, you can pluck these bulbs and take them with you or leave them on the branches. Once the bulbs run out of power, you just reattach them for a recharge. The bulbs are silicon and can be activated or deactivated by squeezing them. |via Yanko|

Wood Waste Furniture

0

Usually, products made from recycled materials are "substandard", and we accept them because we've convinced ourselves that it's better for the environment. For instance, we have these new recycled paper cups at work that replaced our old paper cups. The new cups go flimsy in about 5 minutes so if you are a sipper you're going to be holding a cup in your hand that has the texture of jellyfish. Makes keeping the shirtfront dry a sport. BUT, these pieces of furniture look gorgeous, not sacrificing a bit of style at all even though they're constructed out of factory waste. Part of a graduate project by designer Amy Hunting. They're a little Frankenstein-ish, but the true beauty of the Frankenstein story resided in the monster. |via Boing Boing|

Lock Cup

0

As the economy slogs on the workplace is becoming more cutthroat as everyone starts playing the game of "guess who's going to be down-sized next?" In my office people are literally eating each other's lunches. These dog-eat-dog times require ingenuity when it comes to protecting what's yours. This mug from Efrat Gommeh makes it impractical for any thief to use because the hole in the side can only be plugged with a key-shaped lock. The peace of mind this provides allows you to spend your mental resources scheming up new ways to get your boss's job. |via Trendhunter|

As any avid mountain biker will tell you, the perfect bike may not exist. You see, there are so many factors to look for when equipping your bike, and the difference in riding styles and terrain makes it nearly impossible to have everything you want on a single frame. The new Kona Coilair may be the closest thing to the ideal mountain bike, in that it utilizes a pivoting link to move the chainstay when riding. This helps make sure the bike is able to grind out tough uphill rides and still provides cushion for a rough downhill race. Believe me, this type of technology is well worth the price...

I must have been born during an eclipse because I love shadows. This lamp, made of carbon, steel and aluminum, makes your bare walls a canvas for these captivating shadow scenes. Absolutely lovely.

Sha Do Lamps

0

I spend a lot of time lying in bed and staring at the ceiling. I've always done this, from when I was a child to now. I think I have found the perfect accompaniment to my daydreaming in these lamps from Peter Buning. The lamps cast geometric patterns to make your ceilings more than just a roof over your head. No longer will they be neglected like the stepchild of walls. |via Apartment Therapy|
