How-To Overview
Personal Dose: The personal dose function allows
registered users to save a blog entry in their productdose personal account as a favorite item. Directly above of the blog post text, and below the post title, there is a small icon that matches the pill in the productdose logo. When you click this icon, the post is saved in your personal dose. (The number to the right of the icon lets you know how many users have added the item to their personal dose.) You can then view it in your personal dose by clicking on the "My Account" tab at the far right top corner of the productdose page. Once on your user account page, click the "My Personal Dose" link in the left column, which will show you all of the blog entries you have added to your personal dose favorites, sorted by which items were most recently added.
Tags/My Tag Cloud: Directly to the right the personal dose icon (and the number that indicates how many users have personal-dosed the item), there is a small arrow facing downwared. Clicking on the arrow opens a box with a "Tag This" instruction. Entering text into the box tags this item in your personal dose for classification purposes. Tag the item however you want, making it easier to find the item in your personal dose collection in the future.
In the left column, on your user account page, there is a link titled "My Tag Cloud." Clicking on this link will show you a tag cloud in which the tags that you have used most often will be biggest. Within the tag cloud, the more you have used a tag on particular items, the bigger the tag gets.
Homepage Tabs: Directly under a given blog post title, furthest to the left, there is a small circle with a "+" sign at its center. Clicking this icon will tab the blog post for you at the top of your home page. The tab will appear at the top of your browser screen, above the productdose logo. (You can also create a tab by clicking the "Tab this Page" tab in the top right corner.) The tabbing function gives you easy access to a variety of productdose pages without having to navigate back through your personal dose page. Whichever page you go to when logged in, the tabs at the top of your screen will remain the same.
