Brand Overview
Founded on the concept of "Cowboy punk meets English country gentleman," Howe is a Huntington Beach, CA-based clothing brand focused on a slim-fitting rock and roll aesthetic that is aimed directly at what the company refers to as "Indie Executives." The label describes itself as a bundle of "West-Coast alternative music lifestyle influences with an English tailoring feel."
Brand History
A former high school dropout, Jade Howe would later go on to attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles. He graduated in 1987, and he eventually took a position as designer at Quiksilver. He would later go on to design apparel at Hawaiian Island Creations, where he was a partner, and Fox Racing.
In 2001, Howe launched his namesake brand, a division of Blitz Distribution, an apparel manufacturer and distributor founded by Tony Hawk and Per Welinder. Howe currently occupies the positions of President and chief designer.
In 2004, Howe opened its first free-standing retail concept store, called Howe Homme. The store is located in Santa Ana, CA, in Orange County.
In late 2005 Jade Howe received a Stuff Magazine Style Icon Award (along with Kanye West, Giorgio Armani, Kings of Leon & John Varvatos).
In early 2006, Howe rechristened the brand "Hause of Howe."
